A Toxic Romance Arrives With A Condition Called Love

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Megumi Morino, "A Condition Called Love (Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai)," the first promotional video for the project was revealed. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for the Spring-2024 (April-June) season in Japan, and reveals the production details and voice cast.

In addition, the video shows a snippet of the opening theme song titled "Kiminosei" and performed by the band Sexy Zone.

Megumi Morino began publishing the manga with the secondary title of "I'm Addicted to You" through Kodansha's Monthly Dessert magazine in December 2017, totaling more than 3.8 million copies in circulation to date. In addition, it was crowned with the Best Shojo Manga Award at the 2021 edition of the Kodansha Manga Awards in Japan.

Synopsis of A Condition Called Love

Hotaru Hinase is a high school freshman who values her family and friends above all else. Unable to understand romance, he decides that he will settle for living without the experience of falling in love. While Hotaru is hanging out at a coffee shop with her close friend, she witnesses the relentless breakup of a handsome honors student, Hananoi. Finding him sitting alone in the snow on his way home, she holds out his umbrella to him in a gesture of kindness.

The next day, Hananoi shows up at Hotaru's class and asks her to be his girlfriend. Despite being rejected, Hananoi remains by Hotaru's side, performing selfless acts in hopes of pleasing her. Hotaru begins to feel emotions that he has never felt before. Believing that these emotions could turn into love, Hotaru agrees to date Hananoi.
